National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) 2026, scheduled for April 26 to May 2, 2026, is a nationwide celebration that brings together a diverse range of stakeholders—including employers, industry associations, labor organizations, and educational institutions—to showcase the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeships. This year marks the 12th anniversary of the event and features a significant shift to a springtime schedule based on partner feedback
Upcoming "Spring Symposium." It is designed to act as a pre-event conversion point, driving traffic toward three key user actions: sourcing relevant content through the Panel Inquiries and Workshop Suggestions forms, and recruiting featured industry leaders via the prominent Call for Experts application
The Heartbeat of Barcos Foundation: While our mission takes us into the community, it is the steadfast generosity of our key partners that makes every haircut possible. This card is a small token of our immense gratitude for Ken and Sari Bloom, The Waymaster Family, and David Barley.

"Michigan requires a license to work in 175 occupations — from barbers to auto mechanics. These restrictions affect more than one million workers, or about one in five members of the state’s workforce. Many of these license requirements defy logic and common sense. Barbers in Michigan need more training hours than airline pilots need for their federal license."

Kindness in the D is a community-driven initiative powered by the Barcos Foundation, in partnership with the World Kindness Movement, designed to transform Detroit through intentional, tracked acts of service.
The "Modern Workforce Village" is a collaborative ecosystem designed to systematically remove entry barriers and scale talent through Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs). This model functions as a structured support network that brings together key stakeholders, including employer partners, training providers, and the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity-Workforce Development (LEO-WD) team.
At its core, the Village approach is about providing wraparound support to overcome localized hurdles that often discourage high-potential candidates. For example, the Village works to address practical and educational challenges by providing "math leveling" for entrance exams or solving transportation issues for apprentices. On the employer side, the state-level team within this Village advocates for businesses and assists them in the formal registration of their programs.
Ultimately, this Village framework is the foundation for "Intentional Talent Development," moving beyond merely hiring to fill a vacant role toward deeply integrating and supporting new talent. By leveraging the collaborative support of this workforce "Village," employers and apprentices can take the risk of committing to a long-term career path, which directly aligns with the broader goal of empowering underserved communities through modern workforce development.
